Here’s what’s happening on the second last week of school at BURR…

June 17 – Grade 5 Field –  9:30 am. – 12:15pm

Grade 5 students will participate in BURR’s annual Field Day. Bring a lawn chair/picnic blanket and water to cheer your BURR student on. Children march onto the back field and sit with their classrooms (you can sit near your child’s class). As the events come up, parents will view all activities from the sidelines. Bring binoculars if you  have them. The day’s activities end with the long jump and a trophy is awarded to the winning class.

SPECIAL NOTE: Commack Duck tickets will be delivered this week in children’s backpacks. Please note, due to an inadvertent error, if your child was chosen to sing in the concert, you will have the letter stating they are singing and MAY have a letter saying they are NOT singing. Please ignore the latter letter. Those whose children were NOT chosen to sing in the concert received the correct letter.

June 18 – Grade 5 Trip to Commack Middle School

This is the week that Grade 5 students will receive their Team assignments. Please send in the pink form that came in your child’s backpack to gather information/insights about your child.

June 19 – Second Trip to Broadway for Fifth Graders

Buses will depart at 9:30 a.m. Please expect to have some spare time after lunch. Return to the school will be between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.

June 22 – Commack Community Long Island Ducks Game

See you all at Ducks Stadium. Please follow instructions on the letters you receive via your child’s backpack.

COMING UP…THE LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL! REMEMBER 12:00 PM DISMISSAL EVERY DAY NEXT WEEK

June 24 – Grade 5 Moving Up Ceremony — Please note that graduation times will follow Camp Mariah schedule. If your child went to the first Camp Mariah trip, he/she will have a 9:30 ceremony. If your child attended the second Camp Mariah trip, he/she will have a 10:45 ceremony. Tickets were sent in the children’s backpacks on Friday

June 25 – Staff Appreciation Lunch — Remember to bring donated desserts in between 8 and 11:30 a.m.

June 26 – Last Day of School! Report cards will be sent home with the children on this day.
