Here’s what’s ahead for this week at BURR

Commack Middle School Transition Night for 5th Graders — Tuesday May 28 — 6:30 – 8:30 pm

Parents and 5th Grade children are invited to attend Transition Night at Commack Middle School this week. Children will participate in activities that will acclimate them to the Middle School experience while parents will have a chance to learn more about some of the subjects/issues that will be coming up during these important transitional years. Please arrive by 6:30

Grade 3 Field Day – Wednesday May 29 — 9:30 am. – 12:15pm

Grade 3 students will participate in BURR’s annual Field Day. Bring a lawn chair/picnic blanket and water to cheer your BURR student on. Children march onto the back field and sit with their classrooms (you can sit near your child’s class). As the events come up, parents will view all activities from the sidelines. Bring binoculars if you  have them. The day’s activities end with the long jump and a trophy is awarded to the winning class.

End of Year PTA Dinner – Monday June 3 — 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

All PTA members are invited to attend our Year-End Dinner at Andrea’s 25 on Jericho Turnpike. We will be inducting the new board and celebrating the end of the year. Please submit the flyer and payment by Wednesday May 29.

PTA Staff Appreciation Lunch — Submit Payments by June 7th 

On Tuesday June 25, 2019, the PTA will sponsor a luncheon for BURR staff. We ask for monetary and dessert donations. Please send cash/checks in an envelope marked PTA Staff Lunch by June 7th. Desserts can be dropped off any time between 8 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. the day of the event.

June 24 – Grade 5 Moving Up Ceremony — Please note that graduation times will follow Camp Mariah schedule. If your child went to the first Camp Mariah trip, he/she will have a 9:30 ceremony. If your child attended the second Camp Mariah trip, he/she will have a 10:45 ceremony

June 25 – Staff Appreciation Lunch
